Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished public servant and businessman, is the vice president. Cheney a familiar face in the Washington political scene was a former president under a variety of U.S. presidents George W. Bush will be the fourth vice president, and is the elected president. Bush selected Cheney as his vice president candidate in July 2000 citing his knowledge and expertise. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He served on the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served the country in a variety of positions. Republicans and Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney has said that the role he plays in the Obama administration as of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. When he accepted the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney stated that he looks at serving alongside one who can work to achieve his goals by engaging across the partisan divide and working with political opponents with good will and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30th 1941) was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been wed to Richard Herbert Cheney for over 30 years. In the age of thirteen, Richard moved his family out of Nebraska and moved to Casper which was where his dad worked as head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
